Clairvoyance (Spiritual Insight)
Opening of the inner eye, 100 stages of Spiritual Poverty and the potential dangers of clairvoyance.
The Sufis have the ability to close their eyes and see what is not possible to see with the naked eye. They call it Spiritual Insight or Kashf in spiritual terminology. Kashf simply means disclosure.
A very common type of Spiritual Insight or Disclosure is that the one who is able to see auxiliary spirits that God gifts the divine delegates assist the saint of God in doing spiritual healing. They are the ones who will spiritually scan you and inform you of what kind of illness or disease you are suffering from. They are called Muakkillat.
Now, some people were very fond of having this ability to be a spiritual clairvoyant — (clairvoyance is a French word that means to see what is not possible to be seen with the naked eye). So these individuals who were granted Kashf (Spiritual Insight), it was very limited in power. When they would exercise this Spiritual Insight, they would be corresponding to those auxiliary spirits. For example, if a person comes and says he has this disease or that disease, that person who had been granted Kashf would close their eyes and be able to see the spirits and those spirits will tell them what the problem is.
When you have this Spiritual Insight gifted to you, either on a temporary or permanent basis, you are able to just close your eyes and locate any person anywhere in this world.
With the help of the clairvoyance pertaining to this realm where we live, our own solar system — as far as the blue sky is visible, that is all Alam e Nasut (Terrestrial Realm) — you would be able to locate anyone, anywhere. Just close your eyes and you can see them. Wherever they are, whatever they are doing and whoever they are with. In spiritual terminology, it is called Kashf e Nasuti. With the help of this, you are able to see good spirits (angels) and evil spirits (Jinnat).
There are 100 stages of Spiritual Poverty. The third eye will temporarily open up as you enter the 17th stage of Spiritual Poverty. When you have arrived at the 17th stage in Spiritual Poverty, you will be able to close your eyes and see anything. If you visit a grave, you don’t see the grave, you see the person who is inside the grave and you speak to them. However, the moment you advance from the 17th stage, the inner eye will close again until you have reached the 100th stage. And after you have completed all stages of Spiritual Poverty your inner eye will be opened and remain open forever.
His Divine Eminence Gohar Shahi, in the beginning, gave this opening of the inner eye, an ability, on a temporary basis to people who were not even at the first stage of Spiritual Poverty, so that they feel attracted towards spirituality. But most of them were lost in the wilderness of this charming gift and they thought overnight they had become very close to God and they became saints and they fell prey to the tricks of the Devil.
Now, one thing is very alarming with this spiritual facility. When you close your eyes and you want to see but you do not have enough divine energy in you then the Devil comes in and he connects you to him. Then everything goes wrong because everything runs on some kind of energy, so this also runs on divine energy and you do not know when the sources have been switched.
On many occasions, HDE Gohar Shahi said, ‘Those who have this ability of Kashf become stagnant in spirituality and they do not progress because they are preoccupied with this. They are always trying to see, and trying to spy on others’.
So this has been very dangerous. Those who did have it, not even one of them survived after the Occultation of His Holiness Gohar Shahi. All of such people lost their faith and ran away. It [Spiritual Insight] is a good thing to acquire after the completion of your spiritual training. Then, you have control. Then, you know how to judge.
