The Signs of God and How to Recognise Them
Almost every religion is waiting for an end-times personality and the concept of this personality is pretty vague in all these religions. Nothing is pinpointing whether ‘this’ personality is the One foretold by their religion.
I’m sorry but it doesn’t help anybody find the Messiah knowing that he will be from the line of David. There are so many from the line of David. We have the same problem in Islam also. ‘He will be from the line of Prophet Muhammad’s daughter’. There are so many from the line of Prophet Muhammad’s daughter. So many of them! Who is The One?
One thing that is very important is the significance of the divine signs. For example, in the holy Qur’an alone, on hundreds of occasions, God clearly signifies the importance of the divine signs but we seem to turn a deaf ear on such crucial instructions from God and the religious scholars in the religion of Islam never talk about the divine signs. I don’t know how they escape from this kind of total negligence.
His Holiness Gohar Shahi had said, ‘When the divine signs come, they would supersede all celestial books’.
This is because all these celestial books that we have need a very critical update.
The latest religion is Islam and even the Islamic scripture is almost 14.5 centuries old. If you look back 30 years, the world was a totally different place. Now, with the advancement of science and technology, our lives have taken a big turn. We have grown more dependability on gadgets. In the past, these gadgets would be mocked and considered toys, and now, these gadgets are part and parcel of our life. We cannot think of moving an inch without a phone, without a navigation system. It’s like a small office in our pocket. We don’t keep a diary anymore; our credit cards, our bank apps, everything is literally inside our phones. This is how the world has changed.
And the entire world has become a global village. In the past, you would visit different countries to see different cultures and fashion trends but now it’s the same everywhere. You don’t have to visit a particular country or city to adopt new trends and fashions anymore. Through short videos on Youtube, Instagram and TikTok, everything becomes trendy in a matter of a few hours.
For example, 50 or 60 years ago, if the only mode of travel we would locally and domestically have was a bicycle, either we would walk or ride our bikes and our parents would tell us, ‘if you’re going over a mile, you better take your bike’. Right? Now, just imagine this was in the Qur’an, ‘if you are going over a mile, take your bike’ and you are reading it today, you would ask me: would it be permissible in Islam if I drive my car rather than ride my bike?
The world has changed in a very short span of time. Islam is the latest religion and even Islam is 1450 years old — so just imagine what life would have been like back then. The Bible is more than 2000 years old. The five books that were given to Moses are 2700–2800 years old. Some of the books given to Abraham are almost 4000 years old.
Now, if you follow instructions that were given to people 4000 years ago, how would you relate it to this time? Our behaviour has also changed.
If you ask me why people a hundred years ago would walk more and why people don’t walk that much now, the answer is very simple: because they had no other choice at that time.
In the past, people would think twice if they wanted to go from one city to another because it wasn’t easy to travel. They would either ride on a donkey cart or a cart driven by oxen, cows — and horses were like the Concorde of that time; must have been luxurious. And then travelling from one country to another would be a very far-fetched idea at that time. It would take weeks! But now, businessmen are in the office in London in the morning and by the evening, they are having a meeting in New York and the next day, they are back in the office in London. So, the time has changed.
Obviously, in all those holy scriptures the principle knowledge that tells us how to become a good man or woman and how to connect with God would be the same but when it comes to leading our life here [in this world] and our attitude with people, how to deal with people and how to live a life according to these advanced cultural differences, all of that cannot be addressed by those really ancient books.
When Nostradamus had predicted 9/11, we didn’t understand it because Nostradamus said: there will be some birds made of iron, they will fly and destroy the big city. In those times, people didn’t know what aeroplanes are. So, they would be thinking, birds made of iron? He must be joking! We haven’t seen a bird made of iron. But when the aeroplane is flying in the sky, it looks very tiny and [from our perspective], it looks like a bird.
So, 15 centuries ago when God said ‘he [the Messiah] would be from the line of David’ and ‘he [the Mehdi] would be from the line of the Prophet’s daughter’ — this is the type of thing that people would understand in those times. It’s not something that we have in this world today. In those times, it was not [even] possible to verify whether somebody is a legitimate child. One had to rely on one’s mother or father. But now, with DNA tests, anything can be verified instantly.
Time has changed. Perhaps this is why God had emphasised more on the divine signs because they are always fresh.
In every era, God manifests his divine signs which are fresh and cannot be adulterated. These divine signs have appeared now, manifested by God in favour of Lord Jesus Christ and His Holiness Gohar Shahi.
Look at the Moon and you can see the picture. And if you look at the Moon and think that [the image] is not clear then the next day His Divine Eminence Gohar Shahi will appear in your dream. This is amazing.
A majority of people today find it really irrelevant when they are told about the emergence of the holy faces in the terrestrial and celestial bodies. When you tell them there is an image of His Holiness Gohar Shahi and Lord Jesus Christ on the Moon, they say, ‘oh look at them, they are all a bunch of idiots and they are saying their image is on the Moon!’ And they call it ‘crap’, unfortunately. But it’s simply because they have never been told of the importance of the divine signs.
There is a verse in the Qur’an: sanoorihim ayatina fil afaaq wa anfussahum (we will manifest our signs in the horizons and also in them) hatta yattabayana lahum (until they are convinced) inna ul haq (that He is the truth).
It’s not the public who is at fault only, it’s the religious leaders who did not either understand or failed to educate us according to the divine plan. They give more importance to the scripture and performance of worship. They don’t even talk about the essentiality of our true and practical belief in the divine signs which have been manifested from time to time in the time of every single Messenger of God.
And it’s not just the Qur’an that talks about the divine signs, it’s the Bible also. The Bible very explicitly mentions the divine signs. For example, when people say that Jesus would appear from behind the clouds — it’s a divine sign, isn’t it?
It is very unfortunate that the religion has often been misrepresented by non-deserving people who occupied the seats of the religion and they always played havoc with their position. As a result of which, people have never been given the right knowledge.
