Which Nation is God’s Favourite?
Followers of every Abrahamic religion practically believe that they are the best. But what does God think?
Since the announcement made by the US president about the recognition of Jerusalem to be Israel’s new capital, riots have broken out throughout the world in many different countries.
In the centre of the conflict is Jerusalem, where there [have been] altercations whereby the Israeli security forces have confiscated Palestinian flags. They have been trying to crush the uprising and also rioting of Palestinians [which is their] reaction to this move by Israel.
At the same time, Jews, Christians and Muslims — all three Abrahamic faiths — are in serious consideration whether which of the religions is God’s favourite.
Muslims have been mentioned to be the best nation according to the Koran 3:110. Even according to the Koran, the Children of Israel have been declared by God to be the most favourite ones [2:47]. God has given them preference over all the worlds.
The Koran has two different statements. Muslims still believe they are best ones, Jews believe they are the best ones, and Christians cannot be left too far behind in the race! Christians believe they are from the progeny of God’s son, so how can they be inferior to any nation? They also believe they are the best of all nations. The problem is, none of them are wrong.
Undoubtedly, the Children of Israel have been declared to be the most favourite ones by God — and not just in their own books, but it is also mentioned in the Islamic scriptures. With regard to Muslims, they have been selected by God to be the best nation on Earth and a responsibility has also been allocated to the Muslim nation by God to lead the world, according to Koran 3:110. When we talk about Christianity, Christianity in its own belief system is quite unique. Christians believe that Jesus Christ is not just an anointed one, but also God’s only begotten son.
No matter how discerning the scholars of any of these religions are, they will definitely be biased and only support their nation. They will definitely declare that they are the most favourite ones.
However, over a decade ago, His Divine Eminence Lord Ra Riaz Gohar Shahi had already given a historic statement in relation to God’s favouritism. The fact that who can be truly God’s favourite was dissected openly in terms of its hidden meaning and its application to the futuristic ideas. HDE Gohar Shahi has been very explicit about the divine favouritism.
His Divine Eminence said, ‘A Muslim believes that he is the best of all nations. Whereas the Jews have a similar belief that they are the best ones. Christians also believe they are the best ones, being the nation of God’s son.’
Having mentioned these three statements from these different religions, His Divine Eminence Gohar Shahi then introduces His own verdict. That verdict is something which, in its nature, is unique. It is a challenge to the Koran, Bible and the Torah. It poses a challenge which cannot be refuted, disputed or rejected. It will be accepted wholeheartedly by any member of any faith, whether they are Christians, Muslims or Jews.
In this historical statement, His Divine Eminence Gohar Shahi has laid emphasis on being in possession of God’s love [which] should domicile within the chambers of your heart. Now, this is something which can easily be translated into the core of the Bible, the Torah and into the hidden meaning of the Koran.
The Bible is so simple and easy to understand that not a great amount of spiritual exploration is needed to be carried out in terms of trying to know the hidden meaning of the Bible. However, the Koran is very mystical in a sense that the meaning of the Koran has been classified into different realms of obscurity: obscure, most obscure and extra obscure. The more you dig into it, the newer meaning you will get from that digging.
However, with all the mystical effects of the Holy Koran, when you translate that unique statement by
HDE Gohar Shahi said, ‘The best one among you — whether that one is from Christians, Jews or Muslims — is the one who possesses God’s love in his heart.’
The next sentence that comes from His Divine Eminence Gohar Shahi is extraordinary. The way it is said, it is posing a live threat to the foundations of the world religions. Only HDE Gohar Shahi knows what would have been his obscure intent and what he had on his mind when he was writing these words.
As a scholar of the Goharian Philosophy of Divine Love and Global Peace, I think the second part of HDE Gohar Shahi’s statement categorically nullifies the significance of all the religions.
HDE Gohar Shahi, in the first phase, equals all the religions. He says that whether you come from Islam, Christianity or Judaism, in order to be one of God’s favourites, you have to have God’s love in your heart. If you don’t have God’s love in your heart, then Christianity, Judaism or Islam alone will not make you sustain that title.
There is a soul of favouritism. There is something more than a religion which will make you a favourite of God. That something which will put you on the track of being a favourite of God is basically the core of every religion and is above all religions. What is above all religions is greater than all religions: God’s love.
So in the first phase, HH Gohar Shahi removes the religious dust from your brains. He tells you, ‘Don’t think you are the best one because you are a Jew. Don’t think you are the best one simply because you a Christian. Don’t think you are the foremost, best and most favourite of God just because you are Muslim. It is something else which will make you a favourite of God even if you do not follow any of these religions.’
The divine favouritism does not come into you from your religion. It comes into you with God’s love.
Those who are spending hours and hours every day in a debate about who is the most favourite of God — they are actually wasting their time. Supremacy comes from God.
When supremacy comes from God, it is clearly visible. If supremacy has been allocated to you, then it will show in your character. You will reflect God’s attributes.
Once God has granted your heart to be his abode, you become a saint of God. Once you have found union with God and you have become a divine embodiment — and God walks on two legs in your form — at that stage, you are greater than Judaism, Christianity and Islam.
Islam, Christianity and Judaism are just highways and byways to God. When God is in you, then you are the destination. You are the destiny.
Then the Mosque of Aqsa, the Mosque of Haram and any cathedral in London, San Francisco or Vatican — all these worship places will come and circumambulate around you because you will become the centre of God’s attention.
What could be the result of this discussion where people are engaged in live, non-stop conversation trying to reach an understanding where the entire world will acknowledge whether Muslims, Christians or Jews are the most blessed? This conversation is futile and a total waste of time. What makes you a favourite of God does not lie either in the Bible, Koran or Torah.
What comes from God will connect you to God. The best ones are those who have God in their hearts.
It is very unfortunate that most religious people in all these three religions, involuntarily, assume that God is living in their heart and they have found God unassisted. [They think that they have a] direct hotline! How can that be possible? There is a way and there is a system.
It is not like you are born to Moses and the fact that you are born to Moses will make you as supreme as Moses. No. This birth is the delivery of souls and we do not know what souls have been delivered to you.
His Divine Eminence Gohar Shahi believes the best one among all of you is the one who has God’s love in his heart. If he is a Christian, good. Muslim? Still good. Jew? Good. But, if he has God’s love in his heart, he doesn’t really need a religion.
This means that even if he doesn’t follow any religion, that man without a religion with God in his heart is far greater than those who follow a religion and still they are fighting with each other and slashing each others’ throat in hatred. This is not what Bible says, what the Koran stands for or what the Torah taught 5000 years ago.
Your supremacy does not lie in being a Christian, Muslim or Jew. Supremacy lies in being united with God. If God resides in your heart, you are the best one.
When God resides in someone’s heart, that somebody is like a divine bounty for the entire herd of human beings. His blessings are not confined to one particular group of people, nation or country. When you become the best, you love the rest.
You do not differentiate between a Christian, Jew, Muslim or a Hindu. Why? Because God is in you and God created everybody. He loves everybody, but he doesn’t love those who spread mischief. Whoever you are, if you hate humanity, your religion will not save you from the divine wrath if you are the one who is spreading mischief in the world. So stop spreading mischief in the world. Do not break a heart. Do not divide and rule. Unite and love.
We need to think as a whole of humanity. Not just ‘my religion’ and ‘my people’. When you say that, you are actually telling everybody that you do not belong to God. If you belong to God and love God, then you have this inclusiveness in your statement and thought process.
When you become exclusive, you are actually going away from the divine theme of humanity. You cannot do that and you will not do that when God is in your heart.
Empty vessels make a lot of noise. People call themselves Jews, Muslims and Christians and they take pride in this; however, their hearts are hollow and empty of God. Those who want to become a God’s favourite, they need to embrace divine love. They need to purify their hearts and invite God in.
Without God in your heart, you are the worst of all; with God in your heart, you are the best of all.
